  • 2025 Fall Tournament – Live Bracket

  • Hello Sports Fans!

Thank you for your continued support of Heroes at Bat and the missions of community outreach and support.  What started off for an idea of a single game with First Responders and citizens in recovery has grown into much more.  Not only did the first event grow to three games, but two tournaments were held in 2024 and one (so far) in 2025.  An unintentional bonus of Heroes at Bat’s success is $9,000 has been raised and benefited Awake Ministries, Shelby County FOP Shop with a Cop, and Crusade for Children.   Heroes at Bat was not created to be a fundraiser, however that is the direction it’s taken as it has grown.

Due to the success and growth, Christy has decided to join with Shelby County Fire Department.  Combining forces with Shelby County Fire Department will allow for greater impact and allow for even more growth.  This new collaboration will bring a couple of changes to any future tournaments. First change is teams will be made of First Responders.  In the past it was common for fire and police departments to have teams and join leagues and played often.  Maybe this will spark a new fire to players and this will continue. Another change is all money raised will benefit WHAS Crusade for Children.  The Crusade helps thousands of children, many here in Shelby County.  While this is a shift from the original path of Heroes at Bat, change is a good thing.

The original goal of Heroes at Bat was to bring together members of our community in recovery with First Responders.  This is not ending, in fact, it is getting better!  Rather than having a tournament, we are going back to the basics. We will have one game, Awake vs. First Responders and then we will fellowship with a good ol’ potluck cookout.  This will be where conversations will be had, relationships can be forged, bridges built, and walls knocked down.  We are all one community; this will be a way to get to know each other.

Thank you again for your continued support we will see you on the field! If you would like to get involved, please reach out to Christy.  Check out the tabs to learn how you can donate or become a sponsor or enter your team.  The next tournament is coming up soon, September 27 (backup date is October 2nd).  Please join the fun!
